I was fortunate enough to participate in the very first Chester City Photography Festival , which took place from May 9th to 22nd. A landmark event, under the evocative theme of “Making Voices Heard,” which aimed to give voice through images, to highlight stories that are often invisible or forgotten, and to celebrate the diversity of perspectives.
Organized with the support of several committed local sponsors, the festival has succeeded in uniting a wide audience around photography, by offering a rich and accessible program.
Highlights include:
📽️ a screening of short films related to the theme,
🏫 an inspiring tour of the University of Chester ,
📖 a public reading among the exhibitions, in an original format mixing words and images to democratize photography and reach all generations.
It was a tremendous honor for me to be able to exhibit one of my photographs in this setting. Seeing your work presented alongside other talented artists, in a spirit of sharing and dialogue, is an experience that is both enriching and motivating.
Please note: a book chronicling all the works on display is now available. A wonderful way to document this inaugural event and extend the reflection on the power of photography.
I come away from this adventure with the confirmation that the image is a universal language, capable of making all voices heard.
